Next, you need to unlock the Minerva door that’s on the second floor, near where you got the Nebra Sun. You will only need the crystals at the end, so you don’t have to carry them with you if you don’t want to. Here instead of the Bolt Cutters, you will find a White Crystal. Use the Vesta Key to open the room next to the dining room. Now this is where it starts to get a bit different again. Since you took the alternate path, you didn’t need to use the door that breaks upon use up to this point, so you can use that to get to the Minerva room that has the Vesta Key quicker even if you didn’t bring the oil fix (which is used to fix that door, next to where you use the Nebra Sun/Moon). Use the Nebra Sun/Moon to get the Minerva Key. Get the Nebra Sun and then the Angel Medallion (which drops from the red cultist in that big room with 3 different cultists). Use the Earth Key on the main hall second floor. Going through the other Pluto door on the first floor, use the Shield of Faith to get the Earth Key. Then you can get the Pluto Key and use it to get the Nebra Moon on the second floor. You can immediately get the Shield of Faith from the safe (1701). You also won't get the extra inventory slots from Paul, so you'll need the inventory space even more.įrom now on, a lot of what you do is the same as the original path, so I’ll quickly go over these things. Note: You'll find Bow Gun Bolts in this playthrough, but there will be no Crossbow, so there's no need to pick them up. There will now be exploding zombies in the kitchen alongside the cultist, if you didn’t kill him before. On your way back after getting the Sun Key, in the B2 floor, more cultists will appear. The enemies you’ll find in the mansion are also the same you’d see at that point in the original path. Now you need to go back to the first and second floors and basically do everything you do in the original path after returning to the mansion from the catacombs. The Sun Key can be used to unlock all the doors that in the original path are automatically unlocked when you go back to the mansion from the catacombs. You can also find the shotgun here, along with some shotgun ammo, handgun ammo, medium bandage and the Sun Key. This is a small area, but there are a lot of cultists here, including a red one and an axe throwing one. The knowledge that this alternate path exists and that this is how you trigger it is the hardest part to figure out.
Note: Most things from here you can figure out just by playing. There is now a cultist in the kitchen and you can go through that door to reach the B2 floor. It will only be shown as unlocked on the map once you enter the kitchen. That is the door that you just heard opening.
If you checked the kitchen doors in the basement, you noticed that one of them was locked by some kind of mechanism. After this animation, DO NOT open the door you just unlocked OR enter the portal after unlocking the door, or that will trigger the original path and you will have to reload if you want to go for the alternate path. The screen will zoom in on the door to the hallway and you will hear a door opening sound along with cultist voices. When playing on New Game+, after you use the Angel Medallion, Evil Medallion and the Light Crystal to unlock the front door of the mansion, you will see a small additional “cutscene” during the door unlocking animation. Costume shown at the end of the guide) Start Of The Alternate Path (Doesn’t appear in the costume list until you unlock it. Rewardįinishing the game with the traveler ending will unlock a new costume: Sci-fi Casual.
#Outlast 2 alternate ending full
If you get lost in some of that, please refer to a full walkthrough guide. I’ll still mention them, but I’ll only go into details for things that are different than the regular playthrough. Note: Since this guide is for events in New Game+, I’ll assume you know items, puzzles and locations that are the same as in an original path playthrough. This ending is only available in New Game+, therefore you need a “Cleared” or “Round 2” (or 3, or 4…) save file to go for it, as long as it’s from before you exit the mansion for the first time via the door with the medallions and the crystal. Keep in mind that the game is still being updated and some minor (or not) things might change. Since this content was added to the game months after the release of version 1.0, it’s not covered by the main walkthrough guide, so I decided to write this one. I looked everywhere for a guide for this and couldn't find it.
